New Hampshire Highlands
Scottish Country Dance Weekend
The following information is from the 2019 event, held from August 23-25, 2019.
We have reserved August 27-29, 2021 for this year’s New Hampshire Highlands.
However, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we may have to cancel.
We expect to know enough to make a decision by May.
We hope that we are able to hold the weekend and that we’ll see you then!
In the meantime, stay safe!

About New Hampshire Highlands
New Hampshire Highlands is held the fourth full weekend in August at the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center in Contoocook, NH, about 20 minutes west of Concord, NH.
This is a camp run year-round by the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston. It is set on a lake, where swimming, boating and fishing are available. In addition, there are a basketball court, volleyball court, and hiking trails on 191 acres. Housing is in modern bunkhouses with flush toilets and hot showers. Limited private and semi-private rooms with private bath are available. The large, air-conditioned dining hall also hosts the evening dances.
Available for 2019: A cabin will be reserved for couples. The facilities will be the same as in the single-sex dormitories, except that both men and women will be together in the same cabin. The beds are the usual bunk beds, and the bath and shower facilities are shared. The campers are responsible for ensuring their own privacy. The dormitory rate will be charged for each camper.
The camp session runs from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning, and includes five meals. Three graded classes are held on Saturday and another mixed one on Sunday morning. There is live music for all classes and the two evening dance parties. In addition, there is an evening ceilidh on Saturday, campfire sing-along on Friday and parties before dinner both evenings.
In 2007 the weekend changed name and location and at the same time became an activity of the RSCDS Boston Branch. For the previous 12 years, the weekend was known as Hillsboro Highlands and was held at Hillsboro Camp in Hillsboro, New Hamsphire.
